Column #2: Moving Forward

When I began directing the Barely Legal video line a few years ago I did it out of habit. Most of you know I went through a very difficult time with the passing of my husband, Clive. He was my partner, my best friend and the center of my world. We started the Barely Legal video line and had worked on each production together. When he passed I found myself without my center.

Sometimes the only thing you can do is move forward.

Whether we like it or not times change and life changes us. Honestly at first I was on auto pilot. I just work up and did what my body knew how to do instinctively. Larry(Flynt) has always been a close personal friend and when I told him I wanted to continue with Barely Legal and take over directing, he supported me. I immediately went to 'work'. I put together a story line, cast the talent, styled the shoot and within a few weeks had directed Barely Legal 53.

Soon production will begin on the 75th video in this continuing series. I have changed a lot since that first shoot, even more since I first took the Director's chair. But I am not the only one going through these growing pains, the industry itself seems to be changing. Barely Legal has explored the sexual awakening of of many young women and men. It continues to thrive and grow with the audience. The new girls of BL have grown up in a time very different from when we first began this series. They see and experience life much earlier but still through the youthful eyes of rose colored glasses. It is not suprising these days to see younger girls getting breast impants or other cosmetic procedures. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. But it is a reality. Even the young are chasing youth.

I wonder what the future hold for me and the Barely Legal line. I like to think we have a few more dates in our future. Sometimes the only thing we can do is move forward.
