Copper Rooted in Love Swing Sculpture

Catherine’s copper sculpture, “Rooted in Love Swing”, is a tribute to a love that is grounded, as well as soaring to great heights. Catherine’s sculptures are made from copper and are constructed and hand-wrought by her. A family affair, Catherine Murphy started making art at the age of 6, joining her mother, Susan Murphy. She attended The Maryland Institute College of Art and also attended the Centre for Clay & Cast Iron .

She hand-sculpts every bit, giving it a vivacious coating and a swing that basically moves (don’t worry, the swing still has space to maneuver once you droop it). it is a sweet reminder of the easy pleasures in life—like every other’s company. Hardware not enclosed. hand-loomed in North Carolina.
